​​​Originally constructed in 1925, Philip Shore Elementary School is a landmark of Ybor City’s architectural and cultural heritage. The original Mediterranean Revival structure—characterized by its stucco facades, arched openings, and clay tile roof—served generations of students and remains a symbol of the neighborhood’s deep-rooted commitment to education.​

The renovation and expansion project honors this legacy while preparing the campus for the future. Enhancements include the addition of a new media center, performing arts center, and dedicated classrooms for art, music, drama, and dance. ​

These new facilities are seamlessly integrated into the historic campus, with careful attention to scale, materiality, and circulation—ensuring that the architectural dialogue between old and new remains respectful and cohesive.​
